Big Change invests in people challenging the status quo and leading change for young people, backing their early-stage ideas with high impact potential.

Our Mission

We find and back changemakers with early-stage ideas that have the potential to spark lasting change for all young people. We provide opportunities for them to connect, learn and act together as part of a purpose-driven community rethinking and reshaping the systems around young people. Together we spark lasting change.

Funding and support

Through funding and support we connect and nurture an intergenerational community of leaders with big ideas, who as a collective are showing a new way is possible.

As a catalyst and convener we bring together a diverse mix of leaders, thinkers and pioneers from across generations, geographies and sectors. By working collaboratively to understand young people’s most pressing needs, we back a truly diverse set of leaders and changemakers who deliver impact, create opportunities, and make the case for change. 

We share a commitment to learning, sharing insight, and taking action to create the big change needed to ensure all young people thrive. Together we listen, learn, grow, and spark lasting change.

Our Approach

We work with ambitious leaders who challenge assumptions, and, inspired by working at the grassroots, they bring fresh ideas that have the potential to create a bright future for young people. We support them individually, and collectively, to show a new way is possible. We are about collaborative long term support, and being a catalyst for lasting change.

Our 8 Big Hopes For Change

We have 8 hopes for change which focus on shifting systems and ensuring young people can thrive.

We hope to see a world that: 

  1. Nurtures an ambitious set of goals for young people, rethinking the way society understands success by valuing the whole person.
  2. Works across generations with young people and communities to create change together.
  3. Fosters trust and relationships between people, organisations and breaks down barriers.
  4. Prioritises learning, adapting and growing to support ongoing change. 

So that young people: 

  1. Stay curious and take opportunities to live meaningfully and with purpose
  2. Believe in themselves and their ability to influence their lives and the world around them.
  3. Enjoy access to deep networks of support with strong and trusting relationships.
  4. Develop a lasting love of learning, embracing opportunities to build the skills they need, now and in the future.
