Standing alongside our community of changemakers is the Catalyst Circle - our close knit group of donors who bring the same spirit of ingenuity and ambition to their philanthropy.
Funding Big Change
Made up of an intergenerational mix of business founders, entrepreneurs, family offices, trusts and foundations, the Catalyst Circle is the backbone of Big Change. It is a peer network of modern philanthropists that makes our work possible.
Catalyst Circle donations are pooled and provide funding without conditions or restrictions. This allows Big Change to be a braver, more experimental charity. We invest substantial resources to innovate and develop new approaches that will find and support the social leaders who make a huge impact on young people.
What Catalyst Circle donations unlock
These donations play a powerful role in building momentum and they help us attract organisational partners to unlock more funds, more networks, and more impact.
With the trusting support of our Catalyst Circle, we can make intentional choices as to what approaches will have the greatest impact on young people and prioritise deep, systemic change over short-term solutions.
Over the years, consistent annual gifts (suggested amount £25,000) have helped us support over 70 leaders, who have unlocked £200m in follow-on funding and positively impact the lives of over 8 million young people across the UK.

We do like to always find a reason to get together, out in nature, around a dinner table, or over a coffee.
This is what’s coming up this year:
- Walking workshop in Kew Gardens with our partners at Forward Global to talk about modern philanthropy.
- A Big Day Out with the Big Change team and changemakers to swap ideas and experiences of being ambitious purposeful leaders.
- Visits to see the changemakers’ deep work in practice (DBS required).
- Epic annual fundraiser challenge with our partners The Strive Collective (grit and resilience required!).
