Executive Director, Virgin Money Foundation
Nancy is the Executive Director of the Virgin Money Foundation, a role she has held since 2016. She has set a strategy for the Foundation that works to facilitate changemakers and community organisations to positively change the communities they live in. The Foundation has distributed £12 million over the last six years to help create this change. Prior to joining Virgin Money Foundation she worked in the homelessness sector for 15 years, latterly as Chief Executive of Oasis Community Housing, a charity working with homeless people and at risk families in the North East of England and London.
Nancy is passionate about social change and supporting people to live purpose filled lives that collectively create a better world. In her spare time Nancy is mum to Rupert and wife to Rachael, has a bonkers springer spaniel called Betty and an aloof cat called Marigold. She writes poetry, listens to country music and travels as much as she can. She is a Trustee of The Common Room of the Great North and a Visiting Fellow of St John’s College, Durham.
She is excited about the Big Education Challenge as there is nothing better than seeing young people fall in love with learning about the world around them and fulfil their potential.
