Frontline – Welcoming the 2016 Cohort
27 July 2016: posted by BigChange
It’s been an exciting year for our partners at Frontline with the announcement of government backing and national expansion in January. The excitement continued last week as they kicked off their 2016 summer institute with their largest cohort ever – 160 students!
Karl helped them to ring in the start of the institute by telling the story of his own troubled childhood, being heavily involved in London gangs and having his life turned around by the love of a friend’s mother and the woman who we know so well, Pastor Mimi.
We love hearing about the successes of our project partners at Big Change, and this is definitely one of them. 160 new participants means there are soon to be close to 160 new social workers to help the UK’s most vulnerable children and families, or, to steal a quote from Frontline’s blog, “to walk alongside our children and families with purpose, and help them move from a place of darkness to one of light”.
